Moth papad is a delicacy from the state of Rajasthan. It is a savoury papad made with whole Moth daal or lentil.
Our papads are made with Papad Khar or Sajji salt. Sajjiwas traditionally used to make papads by our ancestors.
The flavors are one of a kind, this papad is a must try and we are sure this is healthier than the other papads.
Our papads don't stick to the jaws because they are made with premium ingredients and spices using artisanal techniques our ancestors had used. These are not mass-produced, factory-made papads. Ours are hand made, sun-dried which is evident from the fact that they may slightly vary in size.
Its midly spiced and has an intense flavour and is highly addictive.
Serve them with the meal or as a snack and embellish your meal every time with minimal effort.
According to some sources, the papad was first made by the ancient Indus Valley civilization over 5,000 years ago. The people of this civilization used to make a flatbread called "paryushan" using lentil flour. This flatbread was then fried and eaten as a snack.
Papad was consumed at the end of the meal by our forefathers to lower the Glycemic load of the meal thus keeping us full for a longer time.
Unfortunately today it's considered to be unhealthy because of the way its made commercially with cheaper ingredients. If eaten when prepared the right way, in the right quantity it has many nutritional benefits.
